The Industrial Series
The Industrial Series is an expansion of the X-Ray Collection, continuing our exploration of translucent materials paired with brushed metal finishes.
The hero material throughout the collection is polycarbonate. As a material, it’s highly durable while maintaining a visual lightness, allowing us to emphasize the interior architecture through a translucent effect that highlights our industrial design theme.
This extended series of products now includes the Mode Encore Series 3 (releasing on September 16, 2025), and a new pen collection designed in collaboration with Inventery (launching on August 27, 2025). More information coming soon. Sign up for our newsletter to get updates.
Encore Series 3 Keyboard
The Encore is a premium mechanical keyboard that celebrates classic design features explored through a juxtaposition of unique materials. Designed by Mod Musings and produced by Mode Designs. Series 3 returns on September 16, 2025, with new materials and finishes as part of the Industrial Series and will be available for purchase at Mode Designs.

For returning Encore and SixtyFive owners, chassis-only options will also be available. This way, you can reuse your existing internals while exploring the new Series 3 finishes.

Each Series 3 keyboard features premium materials with meticulous attention to detail. Due to the sculpted bottom of the Encore, the brushed metal finishes are done by hand.
Each keyboard has a unique brushed pattern that may vary slightly from the photos shown.
Minor variations in brush stroke direction, depth, and pattern are intentional characteristics of handcrafted items.
While every keyboard meets our rigorous quality standards, these minor variations make each Encore Series 3 truly one-of-a-kind.

Be mindful that the brushed bottoms are a little more susceptible to fingerprints and scratches. Be careful not to drag across surfaces or bump up against things.
Fingerprints and markings can be cleaned off with isopropyl alcohol and a clean microfiber cloth.

Industrial Series Pen Collection
A collaboration with precision pen company Inventery, this collection features writing instruments crafted to pair with the Encore Series 3, or to stand alone and make a statement on your desk. Industrial Series Pens will launch at 10 AM PT on August 27, 2025, on Inventery.

The Industrial Series Bolt-Action Pens will come in 3 different material combinations, featuring a silver Mod Musings emblem cap, and a custom laser-engraved Schmidt P8126 Rollerball ink refill.
PC (Polycarbonate) Pen – A full-body polycarbonate edition. Lightweight and translucent, showcasing all of the internal parts and laser engravings.
X-Ray Pen – a mix of polycarbonate and stainless steel with a white Cerakote finish.
Machined Steel Pen – a mix of polycarbonate and brushed steel, featuring a stainless steel machined clip.

To pair with any of the pens, we created a new stand that can hold your pen upright or at an angle on your desk. Featuring an engraved silicone bottom to stay in place and protect your surfaces. Available in two different finishes.
